Pastor Scottie F. Torain possesses a uniquely charismatic, fire-baptized, and thought-provoking preaching style that is unmistakably his own. Truly anointed by God, his passionate delivery of the gospel of Jesus Christ calls to the souls of the lost and speaks directly to hearts from all walks of life. From the pulpit, he masterfully blends truth with love, sharing from the depths of his own heart in a way that resonates with both the churched and the unchurched. His messages are strikingly clear, enriched with poetic commentary, profound insights, and contemporary applications of the Bible’s eternal truths. His ministry reflects the power of a life devoted to prayer, inspiring those who hear him to pursue a deeper, more intimate relationship with God.

On September 1, 2014, Pastor Torain was called to serve as the 8th Pastor of Miles Chapel Baptist Church. With over 25 years in ministry, he has previously served in various leadership roles, including Pastor of Evangelism, Director of Facilities, Executive Pastor, and Youth Pastor. A gifted psalmist, he has been a member of numerous quartets, choirs, and praise teams, using his musical talents to glorify God. His calling has extended beyond borders, leading him to minister internationally, including in Kenya, where he played a vital role in planting churches, and in Ecuador, where he carried the gospel across the nation.

Locally, Pastor Torain is a dedicated servant to his community. He sits on the board of directors for the Allied Churches of Alamance County, Inc., and has previously served on the board of the Guilford County Jail Ministry. His leadership extends to the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship of North Carolina, where he has served as Director of Protocol. Additionally, he has served as the Chaplain for the Triangle Champions Track Club in Durham, North Carolina, and is a recipient of the Sertoma Club Service Award for his outstanding work in creating a reading program for at-risk Black males. Pastor Torain also previously served as Chaplain for the Delta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Academically, Pastor Torain holds a Bachelor of Theology from Apex School of Theology and a Master of Divinity from Shaw University Divinity School. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. He also attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, further enriching his theological and academic journey.

While his ministry and accomplishments are numerous, Pastor Torain’s greatest joy is his family. He and his beloved wife, the former Shandra A. Breeze, were united in holy matrimony in 1998. Together, they have been blessed with four incredible children—Jerrick, Lamar, Mercedes, and Briona—as well as six precious grandchildren, who are the shining stars of their lives.
